Offensive maneuvers in military operations include fundamental forms like the frontal attack,
envelopment, turning movement, penetration, and infiltration.
Other offensive tactics can involve using tactics such as ambushes, flanking maneuvers,

results against an enemy.

Basic Forms of Maneuver

1. Envelopment

Attacking the enemy's flanks to destroy the enemy in the area of operations.
- Vertical Envelopment: Attacking by means of airmobile or airborne forces, often used to
seize key terrain.

2. Turning Movement
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A tactical maneuver where forces avoid the main enemy strength and attack the
enemy's rear, disrupting enemy operations.
- Flanking Maneuver: A tactic to attack the side or rear of the enemy.
- Pincer Movement: A military maneuver where two or more forces converge on an enemy's flanks
and rear simultaneously.

3. Frontal Attack

A direct assault on the enemy's front, often used to fix the enemy.
- Blitzkrieg: A rapid, shock-based attack using combined arms, often characterized by swift,

- Airborne Attacks:
- High yo-yo: made by an attacking aircraft, is designed to cut off an enemy
aircraft during a turn.
- Barrel roll: because of the sharper turn, the attacking aircraft is now in
a position to cut off the defending aircraft during its turn and take a shot.

4. Penetration

Breaching the enemy's lines by attacking them at their strongest point and then
exploiting the breached position.
- Charge: A rapid, aggressive advance, often associated with historical cavalry or infantry

5. Infiltration

Moving through or around the enemy's defenses to attack from an unexpected
direction.
- Trench Raiding: Small, localized raids for intelligence, sabotage, or to wear down the
enemy.
- Ambush: Concealment - attackers hide in a secret location. Waiting - lie in wait
for their targets to arrive. Surprise Attack - launch a sudden attack from their hidden
position.
