Situation

Eating larger, protein-rich meals in the morning and tapering down to smaller, lighter meals by evening aligns with your body's natural clock for optimal energy and digestion.

  1. Morning (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM)

Your body handles food best early in the day because insulin sensitivity (how well your body processes sugar) is highest.

  • Volume: Large portion (35% to 40% of daily food).

  • Food Types: Lean proteins (eggs, Greek yogurt), complex carbohydrates (oats, whole-grain bread), and healthy fats (avocado, nuts).

  • Why: This fuels your day and stabilizes your blood sugar.

2. Midday (12:00 PM – 2:00 PM)

Your metabolism stays active, but your energy needs start to level off for the afternoon.

  • Volume: Medium-to-large portion (35% of daily food).

  • Food Types: Lean proteins (chicken, fish, tofu), high-fiber vegetables (spinach, broccoli), and moderate complex carbohydrates (quinoa, brown rice).

  • Why: This maintains steady brain focus and physical energy without causing a crash.

3. Evening (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM)

Your body prepares for rest, and insulin sensitivity drops significantly in the evening.

  • Volume: Small portion (20% to 25% of daily food).

  • Food Types: Lean proteins and high-volume, low-calorie vegetables. Minimize heavy starches, sugars, and heavy fats.

  • Why: Eating less prevents indigestion and helps your body focus on sleep instead of heavy digestion.

  1. Night (After 8:00 PM)

Late-night eating slows down digestion and can disrupt your sleep quality.

  • Volume: Minimal to none (0% to 5%).

  • Food Types: If truly hungry, choose a very light, protein-rich snack like a small cup of chamomile tea or plain yogurt.

  • Why: Your digestive system rests during sleep hours.
