Exercise : Desert Conditions Defense Fundamentals
Situation
Heatwave conditions may result in optimal desert conditions tactics winning any
disputed territories...
☀️
Desert defense relies on overcoming the brutal realities of open terrain:
- severe temperature extremes
- lack of water
- extreme visibility
Success hinges on three core fundamentals:
i. early detection of the enemy
ii. aggressive counter-mobility to channel them into prepared engagement areas
iii. vigorous protection of your troops against the harsh environment
1. Core Tactical Fundamentals
i. Security & Screening:
Because the flat, wide-open terrain lacks natural cover, you cannot hide
static positions easily. Use highly mobile units and early-warning sensors
to screen.
ii. Counter-Mobility:
The desert offers excellent cross-country mobility for attackers. You must
use man-made obstacles (minefields, wire, blocked wadis) to force the enemy
into areas where your firepower is concentrated.
iii. Camouflage & Deception:
Hiding in the desert takes up to three times the effort. Daytime movement
kicks up telltale dust trails visible for kilometers, while noise and light
travel far at night. Hide vehicles in "dead space" or wadis and use strict
light discipline.
iv. Air Defense:
Because cover is so scarce, defending forces are highly exposed to aerial
reconnaissance and strikes.
Aggressive self-defense and active air defense are non-negotiable.
Physiological & Equipment Defense
2. Heat Casualty Prevention
The desert floor can be up to 17° C (30° F) hotter than the air. Never
lie directly on the ground.
3. Stay Clothed
Stripping down increases sweat evaporation and accelerates severe
dehydration.
4. Water Discipline
Water is your most critical supply chain constraint.
Ration sweat, not water. If you must move, only do so during the cool
morning and evening hours.
5. Equipment Maintenance
Fine blowing sand and grit act as a grinding paste, destroying weapons
and vehicle lubricants. Electronics overheat easily and require constant
maintenance.

...ah...you an expert...?...
....am...
...owh...
...now come...let me [ask you some questions]...
...then i will...
...because you asked polite...!...
-> NEED to use the exercise to treat the local area like a desert town under threat of enemy incursion. Set appropriate defensive protocols for high visibility and extreme temperature conditions during a summer period.
...will...!...
...and then no...
...un m...
...mmm...
...even in un...
...we're...
...ohhh...
...
...won't and then un...
...what then...
